Job Summary

We are looking for a Safety Manager who is passionate about creating and maintaining a safe work environment. This role is responsible for supervising and mentoring our team of Safety Coordinators while ensuring our projects adhere to the highest safety standards.

The Safety Manager will lead the development and implementation of safety programs, oversee compliance with OSHA regulations, support field operations, and foster a proactive safety culture across the organization. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated safety professional to join a specialty contractor performing work on many of the largest construction projects throughout the Northeast.

This position is available in Bensalem, PA or Elizabeth, NJ.

Job Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor Safety Coordinators by setting clear objectives and providing purpose, direction, and motivation.

• Review and approve project Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and manage daily safety documentation.

• Support hazardous work permits and conduct accident and incident investigations.

• Oversee Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) requirements for crane lifts and other high-risk operations.

• Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs.

• Conduct pre-task planning, site safety audits, and inspections.

• Provide oversight for high-risk work and contribute to the development of project safety programs.

• Enforce company safety policies and procedures while implementing corrective actions as needed.

• Review site safety programs and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) to ensure risk mitigation plans are in place.

• Generate safety reports, analyze safety metrics, and recommend continuous improvements.

• Build and maintain professional relationships with client project teams and safety professionals.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• 3–5 years of experience in an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) role.

• Bachelor's degree required.

• Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations and reporting requirements.

• Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or GSP/ASP actively working toward CSP certification preferred.

• Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification required within two years of employment.

• OSHA 510 certification preferred.

• OSHA 30 Construction certification.

• Safety Trained Supervisor – Construction (STS-C) certification preferred.

• CPR/First Aid Instructor certification preferred.

• New York Safety Supervisor Technician certification preferred.

• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

• Ability to build relationships with field leadership, clients, and project teams.

• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

• Regular interaction with field leadership teams to assist in safety planning for upcoming projects.
