Position Summary

The Vice President of Information Technology is a strategic business leader responsible for developing, securing, optimizing, and scaling the company's technology infrastructure, systems, cybersecurity, and digital capabilities to support continued growth and operational excellence.

This role serves as both a strategic advisor and operational leader, ensuring technology investments align with business objectives while maintaining a secure, reliable, and high-performing technology environment. The VP of IT is responsible for assessing the overall health of the organization's technology ecosystem, identifying risks and opportunities, developing technology roadmaps, and leading initiatives that improve productivity, security, scalability, and user experience. This role will provide leadership to an established team of technology professionals and subject matter experts, creating alignment between business strategy, technology execution, cybersecurity, infrastructure health, and service excellence. The Vice President will leverage the strengths of the existing team while developing future capabilities needed to support the company's continued growth and digital evolution.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Strategy

• Develop and execute a multi-year IT strategy aligned with company growth objectives.

• Serve as a trusted advisor to the executive team on technology opportunities, risks, and investments.

• Create technology roadmaps supporting operational efficiency, scalability, and innovation.

• Evaluate emerging technologies that enhance construction operations and business performance.

• Establish governance, standards, and policies for technology management.

Team Leadership & Talent Development

• Lead, develop, and inspire a team of IT professionals, including technology experts, systems specialists, business systems analysts, infrastructure personnel, and support staff.

• Establish clear goals, performance expectations, and development plans for the IT team.

• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability, customer service, and continuous learning.

• Leverage the expertise of team members to identify opportunities for technology improvements, process optimization, and business innovation.

• Ensure the team remains current on emerging technologies, cybersecurity trends, and industry best practices.

• Create career development and succession plans that strengthen organizational capability and retain top technology talent.

• Empower team members to serve as trusted advisors and subject matter experts to business leaders across the organization.

• Build a high-performing technology organization capable of supporting the company's growth, operational needs, and strategic objectives.

• Foster a customer-service mindset within the IT function.

• Promote technology adoption and user engagement.

• Partner effectively with Operations, Finance, HR, Safety, and Business Development teams.

• Lead with the EDA Way through trust, transparency, accountability, discipline, and passion.

IT Infrastructure & Systems Health

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of infrastructure, networks, cloud environments, hardware, software, and business systems.

• Develop and maintain an IT Health Scorecard measuring system performance, reliability, security, support effectiveness, and user satisfaction.

• Identify infrastructure gaps, technical debt, and modernization opportunities.

• Ensure systems support current and future business growth.

• Establish disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

Responsible for:

Cybersecurity & Risk Management

• Develop and maintain enterprise cybersecurity strategy.

• Conduct regular cybersecurity assessments and vulnerability reviews.

• Lead cybersecurity awareness and training programs.

• Implement risk mitigation strategies and security controls.

• Ensure compliance with applicable cybersecurity standards and regulations.

• Oversee incident response planning and execution.

Construction Technology & Business Systems

Assess and optimize critical business platforms including:

• ERP systems

• Accounting and financial systems

• HRIS systems

• Estimating software

• Field productivity applications

• Document management systems

• Business intelligence and reporting tools

Technology Audit & Continuous Improvement

• Establish ongoing technology audits and assessments.

• Evaluate vendor performance and technology effectiveness.

• Identify opportunities to improve automation and reduce manual processes.

• Develop technology maturity assessments and improvement plans.

• Lead digital transformation initiatives.

• Benchmark company technology capabilities against industry best practices.

IT Operations & Service Delivery

• Ensure reliable day-to-day technology operations.

• Establish service-level agreements and performance standards.

• Monitor user satisfaction and support effectiveness.

• Manage internal IT team and external service providers.

• Develop IT staffing and succession plans.

Financial Management

• Develop and manage annual IT budget.

• Prioritize technology investments based on business value and risk reduction.

• Manage software licensing and vendor contracts.

• Optimize technology spending and total cost of ownership.

• Support long-term capital planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.

• Master's degree preferred.

• 15+ years of progressive IT leadership experience.

• Experience leading technology functions within construction, engineering, manufacturing, industrial services, or related industries preferred.

• Demonstrated success managing infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise applications, and digital transformation initiatives.

• Experience working with executive leadership teams and managing technology budgets.
