EDA Cares Spotlight: MED13L Foundation
5.21.2026
This MED13L Awareness Month, EDA is proud to spotlight the incredible work of the MED13L Foundation and the ways EDA Cares has helped support families affected by MED13L Syndrome.

May is MED13L Awareness Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness, supporting families, and highlighting the organizations working to advance research and resources for those affected by MED13L syndrome. This month, EDA Contractors is proud to recognize the important work being done by the MED13L Foundation.
About MED13L
MED13L syndrome is a rare neurodevelopmental condition caused by changes in the MED13L gene. Because the condition exists on a spectrum, symptoms and support needs can vary from person to person. Individuals with MED13L may experience developmental delays, speech and communication challenges, intellectual disabilities, and physical differences. In some cases, additional medical concerns such as epilepsy or congenital heart defects may also be present.
While awareness of MED13L continues to grow, families and advocates continue working to increase understanding of the condition and encourage further research and support resources.
About the Foundation
The MED13L Foundation was founded by parents seeking answers, connection, and support after their children were diagnosed with MED13L syndrome. Recognizing the limited research and resources available at the time, the foundation was created to bring together families navigating similar experiences.
Today, the organization helps raise awareness about MED13L, supports families within the community, and advocates for continued research into the condition. Through education, outreach, and collaboration, the foundation provides an important network for those affected by MED13L syndrome.
Supporting the MED13L Community
MED13L Awareness Month is an opportunity to learn more, spread awareness, and support the families and organizations making a difference every day. Whether through donating, volunteering, sharing educational resources, or simply helping amplify the voices of those affected, every effort helps build a stronger support system for the MED13L community.
EDA is proud to support causes that create meaningful impact and bring communities together. Over the years, EDA has supported the MED13L Foundation not only through fundraising efforts, but also through hands-on volunteer work that directly supports families affected by MED13L syndrome. From waterproofing a bathroom to installing a base for a hot tub, EDA volunteers have stepped up to help families in meaningful and practical ways.
By raising awareness and supporting organizations like the MED13L Foundation, we hope to help foster greater understanding, compassion, and progress for those affected by MED13L syndrome.
